Lewis Black, Retro Lunch, My dad is old

by

1. Lewis Black rocks my face. my cheeks hurt from all the laughing I did. What makes him so great is that he doesn't pick a side, he mocks both sides equally. I even got him to sign the DVD I purchased. How awesome is that?
2. My Retro Lunch show launched with a blast, a steady 8-9 listeners all night. very cool.
3. Today we celebrated my dad's birthday(he's 49) and had family over and everything. Its always great to see the folks and talk about stuff.
4. My fiscal restraint continues to hold. Oh... the things I didn't buy today hehe.
5. Gonna ask her out tomorrow :)

1. I'm going to see Lewis Black today with Dave! Its gonna rock!
2. Saturday I kick off my radio show, The Retro Lunch. Its going to be at 7pm EST, on http://awradio.mine.nu:8200 and you can find more information at http://awradio.org.
3. Going to visit my dad this weekend. Celebrating his birthday a day late, and Easter a week early. Seems my step-mom couldn't get everyone here next week. Should be fun.
4. Happiness! We told each other corny jokes last night. She really has a cute sense of humor.
5. Exam on Monday. Am I worried? Nope, not one bit. Well I got my school stuff under control. According to my transcript, my GPA in chemistry is a 2.5.
I need a 2.75 in order to advance in my education. I did some calculations and if I don't do anything extra, I cannot get less than a B+ on either Instrumental Analysis or Physical Chemistry II. It will be very difficult to get a B+ in PChemII, but I'm gonna work hard. I can also retake some classes whos grades were less-than-stellar... Meaning Inorganic Chemistry Lecture.

I might even be able to take Chemistry 101 and 102, because according to my transcript I was only given PASS credit, rather than a grade because I received a 4 on the AP Chemistry exam. Since there is no recorded grade, I could take both of these, ace them, and then have it boost my GPA even more. I'm going to talk to my academic adviser on Monday to see what I can get done this summer/next fall. Hurray!

Good things abound

by

1. I like her. Alot. Spent quite a bit of time with her. We talked, went for a walk. I think she likes me :)
2. I'm fitting into a shirt I haven't in a long while. I tried on a pair of pants from Christmas- they fit better now but they're still too tight to wear to school.
3. Reading the New Jedi Order again. This time I've picked up the few books I skipped over the first time. Fascinating stuff.
4. More people need to appreciate how awesome the music from Uru:Ages Beyond Myst really is. I listen to it all the time. Not only is it relaxing but I can focus on schoolwork too.
5. My boss offered to pay me an additional hour each day because of the long drive I have to make to get to my location. How sweet is that?

I cheated on Monday. I wasn't anywhere near a place I could an Atkins-friendly meal, so I stopped at BK and purchased two croissanwiches. I threw away the tops but the bottom bun part was too good to throw away :( This mistake continued while waiting for my evening class, I was offered some M&Ms and I just couldn't say no. When you make a mistake with Atkins, your body lets you know. Usually forcing you on the pot several times a day X-|. However since then I corrected this mistake and I continue on my merry way.

I found an interesting problem with my educational path. My course list requires Physical Chemistry I and II, an Calculus I and II. I completed Calculus I and II at UB, and according to my academic adviser my one-semester Physical Chemistry for Life Sciences only fills Physical Chemistry I requirement. So what is the problem? The prerequisite for Physical Chemistry I is Calculus III, which I have not taken. Since I was waived Physical Chemistry I, no one told me I needed Calculus III. I dropped Physical Chemistry II understanding that all I needed was a refresher, but in fact I need to take a full course. This has caused me to waste 3 credit hours and 350 dollars on a course I should not have taken. This is most unfortunate. >:(

First Post, Haha

by

Well I changed my mind. While I will talk about my diet, I will also use this to talk about what's happening in my life. I think I should start each entry with 5 things that are going great in my life.

1. I think I'm in love. She's awesome.
2. I just signed a new lease on a new apartment.
3. Classes are doing okay, I'm on track to gain teaching certification by Fall of 2007.
4. I'm losing weight.
5. I'm not financially burdened at the moment. -I've only known her a couple weeks, but every time I see her I get butterflies in my stomach. I want to know more about her, but I don't want to frighten her away. I'd like to think I'm a great guy, and I hope she recognizes that in me.

-My new apartment looks great! Lots of room, price is right, utilities will be low... I can't wait :)
-I'm dropping physical chemistry. It'd be better to drop it now and retake it later, than to get a failing grade now. I cannot afford to get less than a C+ grade in any of my chemistry classes, so this is the wisest course. While I can still withdraw without an academic penalty, I still have to pay for the class regardless. Oh well.
-I know I'm losing weight. The scale at the gym doesn't go high enough(shut up:P) but I wake up with lots of energy even after little sleep. I've been following the Atkins diet pretty well, and I'm quite proud of my progress. Here's hoping I can fight temptation long enough to get down to 220lbs :)
-With my taxes, my student loans, assistance from my friends/family, I'm not worried about paying my bills or where my next meal is going to come from. It was scary for a while(January and February) but I've reached a point where its not a huge worry. I'm looking at getting a new job soon so I hope that turns out to be everything I want it to be(a schedule around my classes, pays better than the one I have now :P)

That's it for now. This is pretty cool, writing in my own journal. It gives me a chance to reflect on the positive aspects of my life. I'm an optimistic man, so this will be yet another tool to show that.
